How to win

Hey Mate 👋,

everyone wants to win.

They look for some silver bullet that’s all gonna make it happen.

And fast too.

But the truth is…

It doesn’t exist.

If there was some silver bullet, we’d all be millionaires, lol.

Which makes nobody a millionaire because we’re all average earners. (mind-blown.gif)

Sucks? I know.

But the earlier you understand this, the more you can focus on actually getting there.

Or to decide that it’s not for you.

Nothing wrong with that…

Pain only happens when you try to fit a square peg in a round hole.

But back to the point.

How you win is this:

You fuck around, and you find out.

Here’s my process to picking up something:

1. Set a goal that moves the needle for you

2. Pick one topic that helps you achieve this goal

3. Learn the fundamentals by reading / consuming content (1-2 weeks)

4. Every day, act on what you learn

5. After 2 weeks, measure what you did

6. Come up with hypotheses how to improve

7. Rinse and repeat

I give you a concrete example, something I’m learning right now:

1. Goal: New Revenue Stream for our Wedding Speech Tool.

2. Topic: Viral Marketing

3. I read “Day Trading Attention” and “22 Immutable Laws of Marketing”

4. I posted on TikTok on my account per day (on average at least lol)

5. What worked best for me is the intersection of “funny“ and “knowledge“ / “building a business“

   1. Building a biz + Funny = Best

   2. Teaching about SEO performs average

   3. Only being “funny“ performs the worst

6. I can improve this further by doubling down on what works

7. Next step is to apply these learnings across an account linked to the wedding speech tool we’re actually selling and just posting more, the sample size just too small.
